stargazing - tywan bell lyrics

Loading...

by the age of 15 in 2014
i was rapping to my phone, listening to beats
recording songs on soundcloud doing “one takes”
and if i messed up, i’ma do another take
now i’m raw and authentic, plus i’m self*made
and no i’m not flexing for some views or instagram likes
and f*ck those retweets and all the broads you got
i rather build an empire wit’ a strong foundation why?

yeah, ’cause i done seen the other side
more than a lucid dream in my mind and my eyes, ayy
since the age of 5, i was looking to the sky stargazin’ while the planes was flying by

i done seen the other side
more than a lucid dream in my mind and my eyes, ayy
since the age of 5, i was looking to the sky stargazin’

yeah, i was so innocent in a sense
i was so oblivious to the world, to the good, to the bad
heading to a destination that i never witnessed from my own perspective
at the age of 5, i started off in a alternate school on the north side
sugar creek, rain creek way
so let me take you back when summertime was really summertime
always waking up at 9, than ate a bowl of cereal, watched some cartoons
then headed straight outside
we was told to be back before we saw the street lights
’cause by 10 o’clock, they was out there bussin’ wit’ the 9
like it’s 4th of july, but i wasn’t paying mind
i was too busy playing need for speed and halo on that xbox
fell asleep, woke up, than i did it on repeat
but in 2 double o 8, that’s when life would change forever
so, i’ma keep it short and sweet, it was some fornication
so my parents separated by the age of 9, divorced at the of 10

by that time, i was mainly on my momma side
i know we moved a couple times before we settled on the westside
5th grade, pawtuckett elementary
in the 1st half, i was the new kid on the block in 2 double o 9 before 2010
when i went to middle school, than i was bullied by the cool
that was the start for the life of a misfit

i tried to fit in, even though i was a outcast, i had a few friends
only 3, we was moving nameless with the movement
selling candy making composition music from orchestra to freestylin’
as we feel into a new dimension, spazzin’ wit’ a pencil when we had the chance
they would never understand the circumstance
of being bullied for who i called my “friends”

we was lame in their eyes, but that was no surprise
fast forward, 4 years later i was in the 10th grade
spanish class, 2nd block, stuck inside a cycle of facing bullies after bullies
it was 2 inside my class to be exact, they was the hardy brothers
causing mayhem anywhere they at
i used to get hit or slapped and laughed at for being quiet on that map
but at that point, all my homies was scattered crossed the map
so i was moving solo mainly, but that bull sh*t really made me who i am
that’s why i stepped into the art of storytelling
like i’m under peer pressure
’cause when you stepped into the hallway, it was only pure pressure
or that 93 in the school court yard
they was serving up that tree like, “n***a what you need?”
“you can get the g now or at the park at 3 after school”
but i would never pay no mind and mind my business, kept it pushin’

’cause that was nothing new
plus i knew some plugs who made they own rules
from skipping classes to fl!ckin’ ashes
or jumping n****s who want the action
then hit the cut and started moving like they casper
then creep up on you like the 11th grade
i used to be up on the gram scrolling down the page
while i fantasize on this smooth thang, slim thick, brown skin

but i knew i was a lame with 10k followers
only thinking ’bout some fame in hope
that i could bag some broads who only knew my name
i was 16 wit’ p*ssy on my mental while i slay these verses
as i’m murkin’ instrumentals, and don’t forget i used to struggle in all my classes
but in mathematics, i was calculatin’, doing more than adding
i used to stare at the pretty girls wit’ the fat asses, so bodacious
but even then i used to get bullied so much on the bus
from the a to the p.m, this was ned declassified survival guide
to the end of the 12th grade
one of the youngest in my class
17, class of 2016, graduated wit’ no plans but cpcc
i was gonna go, but they lost my information

now i only had 2 options, it was go to work or move that work
now i’m on the job thinking how can i build a foundation
workin’ 2 jobs from 8 a.m to 2 a.m
that was my dedication as i pushed this chevy s10 1988
from n.c to s.c, i was movin’ so consistent yet persistent with precision
making plays, i was working all summer every day as i tried to make a way

now fast forward 3 years
now i’m on a job tryna find my way out through my music
as i dip into my passion while i’m looking to the sky
asking god if i’ma make it, i been working overtime
and always stayed patient as i catch myself looking to the sky

i done seen the other side
more than a lucid dream in my mind and my eyes, ayy
since the age of 5, i was looking to the sky stargazin’ while the planes was flying by

i done seen the other side
more than a lucid dream in my mind and my eyes, ayy
since the age of 5, i was looking to the sky stargazin’
