josiah henson came about
he became a slave but then escaped
helping 200 slaves out
henson grew up
an abolitionist, minister, activist

he founded the dawn settlement
when the black people came over, a life brand new

henson was a hero and he really came through!
he was friendly, not feared
and had a white, fluffy beard
leaving his motherland
henson fled with 4 kids at hand
josiah grew older
and married nancy henson
who was also a slave
they had 12 kids

he started ‘the british-american institute’
for those who were destitute
