mother's call - muddy summers and the dirty field whores lyrics

Loading...

[verse 1]
so the world’s gone mad and things are way beyond bad
and i’m feelin’ sad for mi bambinos
’cause i gave them life, but the megaloloons are rife
and we just t**ter on a dice in their casinos

[chorus]
this is a mother’s cry, one who cannot stand by
and watch as they vilify our freedom
but i guess i am as useless
as all the others are pressed to think they need them

[verse 2]
yeah i want peace and love, but not condition from above
in fact i’d like to shove it up their *rs*s
with their bombs and games, it’s the same old same
toys to sustain their fame and twisted farces

[chorus]
this is a mother’s call, one with no wherewithal
in which to make them fall hard from their towers
but i guess it must be merciless
if we are ever to repress their f*cking power

[verse 3, spoken]
there’s a price on my head, my kids are in for valuation
and they’re weighing at their worth under the guise of education
and i’m tryna protect them from this unnatural selection
but i don’t have the antidote to this social infection

tryna wreck the bed that someone else has made for me
pillow fight every night to set these bl**dy demons free
but the more i shred the sheets, the more they tighten with their need
to hold me back, there is no slack in preserving their greed

for the debt cycle is but the new religion of the day
and everything is fine as long as you work, stress, and pay
these global corporations that you dare not disobey
for what is life if they take all your status toys away?

yeah, you can look down on me and mine if you so choose
got nothing of value but my values, this ain’t news
a free thinker without utopia, i’m born to lose
but i’m proud as f*ck that my kids never asked for nike shoes

well i say they’re mine, but they’re just little people that i love
i don’t own them, just protect and guide and hope they’ll be free of
the bullsh*t that makes you feel that you’ve been deprived of
consumer hype that you don’t need and reality’s enough

so escape isn’t a choice they make, not something that’s destructive
in their lives, not every breath you take has to be productive
the sense that you don’t own yourself and you should just keep giving
the last drops of your soul to those in power instead of living

[bridge]
dog eat dog, survival of the fittest
may the best man win, show the poor souls your pity
need versus greed, both keep planting their seeds
we cannot survive on clichés, but we can relearn how to behave

[chorus]
this is a mother’s call, one tiny vice is all
longing to stand tall in a chorus
i can sing, but no change will it bring
if we do not unite for what’s before us
if we do no unite for what is sp*wned from us
