slow down - gigoe lyrics
(intro)
down down, we gotta slow it down
down down, slow it down
(verse)
aye
speed it up right from back what you said
logging thru our chat like i’m blowing thru my head
cringing at sh*t i said back then
i wish you’d just left me on read
but you made me fall for you instead
it’s unfair really, i mean it’s unfair truly
never asked for longing attention
and desire cus look where it got me this time
i’m tired of skinny b*tches with stomach problems coming into my life when the last one leaves
i’m tired of chicks off norepinephrine and their friend collectin information in my dms
i’m tired of waking up and having to act like the past day wasn’t worse than before
i’m tired of acting like acting on stage back then wasn’t a f*cking chore
i’m tired of being washed up like panties on a shore
i’m tired of being called an artist when my arts uninsured
i’m tired of making excuses and faking abuses for internet pity
i’m tired of raking in numbers and caring so much about internet viddies
i’m tired of acting like my golden days are fading now and my saving grace made her great escape
cause she hasn’t parted
im just getting started
if i died today, my biggest regret
would be waters left uncharted
i got a mental list of mental sh*t i’d like to hit before my bucket’s kicked
internet numbers i’d like to reach
kiddies i’d like to raise one day
cop a house up on the sandy beach
for strangers voice, my name they’d say
(chorus)
those thoughts they fade out now
you make your great escape you d*ckhead
those thoughts they fade out now
but make your great escape now d*ckhead
you should slow right down
or… else you’ll sink to the bottom
slow right down
right now d*ckhead
down, down
we gotta slow it down
down, down
slow it down
down, down
we gotta slow it down
down, down
slow it down
(slow it down…)
(right now d*ckhead!)
(slow it down…)
(verse 3)
i miss my old life
covered in simplicity and golden nights and oversights
when every day had daily massive strides
when my momma bought me polos with purple stripes
when the school lunch gave us sh*tty beans and f*cking rice
and yet im still stuck in the past
with every day running fast
i’m feeling, with every moment i’m holding
onto youth while still it’s unfolding
its cold yet its opening that sh*ll i didn’t know about
it grew about six times since i learned about its whereabouts, i
grew into an adult learned to tie my shoes
start to dress myself i learned about friends drug abuse
led from musical practice to overnight acting to rapping to singing in classroom
to going on stage and playing a b*st*rd and getting applause and accolades after
to confidence boosting, to kissing a few flings, to missing a few things
now im stuck observing in the months after
to reminiscing about the disasters
crying in bed in between all the laughter
and looking at old friends like looking at caster
and clinging to school books at a garage sale and
keeping my varsity jacket inside my of closet like its still freezing
but after two months of my disbelief i came to conclusion that i should stop cheesing
and meet other people who share the same problem and
work out where im gonna live in the autumn
this fun sh*t it ain’t gonna last forever
but like the seasons, there’ll be another summer
so look forward to it
look forward
not back
slow down slow, slow down
slow down slow, slow down
slow down
(you’re gonna be okay.)
