references –

3 – kali mala – blemishes of kali yuga. please refer to srimad bhagavatam, book 12, chapter 2 for complete details –

in srimad bhagavatam itself, there is a contradiction as to who stole vedas – whether it is somakasura or hayagriva or madhu kaitabha. there is also a contradiction as to the avatar of the lord for restoration of vedas – whether it is matsya or hayagriva. please refer to -srimad bhagavatam 5.18 and srimad bhagavatam 8.24.

comments –
general – in this krti, sri tyagaraja mentions about avataras of lord vishnu while addressing lord sri rama in every line. please refer to krti ‘syama sundaranga’ and the invocatory stotra of dance-drama ‘prahlada bhakti vijayam’ wherein he clearly states that the supreme lord in the form of sri rama is his ishtha devata – chosen idol.

sri tyagaraja has omitted ‘kalki avatara’. the omission of ‘krshnavatara’ is very glaring (though in c9, it is mentioned as ‘vijaya ratha sarathi’). the avatara of lord vishnu as krshna is called purnavatara which means that lord vishnu manifested with full glory. in the krti ‘raghu pate rama’ – raga sahana, sri tyagaraja calls the lord rama as ‘paripurna avatara’.
