i write songs and poems
to encourage myself and my people
when times are hard
and 2020 was really hard
i must admit, it was hard for me being a black woman in 2020
i cried a lot a lot
i was wondering, what do we, black people
have inside of us that the world is so afraid of?
what do we have that maybe we don’t even know
but the world knows and the world is afraid of?
so i decided to call my ep “black magic” because the idea that
my magic was the power of god living inside of me
was so good to me
and i decided to wake it up!

so here i am
introducing myself and my music to the world
to you
with love, joy, and gratitude in my heart
i really hope that you will listen to the words
i really hope that you will hear my soul
and yeah…
for me it’s just the beginning
