the beginning of the end - amity lyrics
verse 1:
at the end of all our days we were ready all too late
when an experiment of late would unexpectedly mutate
the president had stated that some specimens escaped
and it was spreading at a rate that had condemned the human race
the centre for disease control said that there would be a toll
but never have we seen a cold that reckons paracetamol
and as the scene evolved, everyone was feeling cold
desperate for some heating but the dead had got to seize control
it’s spread by bite – a fatal influenza
you’d be dead by night but you’ll be safe if they were dentures
forget white light – you become insatiable and tempered
and your set lifetime will become graced with yet a second
it eradicated over half the population
infected and emaciated the smartest of the nation
decapitating the target tops abrasions
and ain’t it fascinating, the last of god’s creations
hook:
i woke up at the end of the world/
and didn’t believe what i could see
everyone was acting very absurd/
and zombies would wander the streets
i was told not to reach for loved ones/
and to stay locked inside
all of society came undone/
and i chose not to hide – i’ve got to fight
verse 2:
watching in horror, we couldn’t stop the atrocity
my parents said the country would get our soldiers on top of it
i said “mum, i think this is a zombie apocalypse”
then we stocked things in boxes and in a kombi a hop and skip away
gathered possessions and packed our bags with essentials
streets damaged from weapons and hazardous chemicals/
people had used defensively to attacks from the dead
got a backseat of friends just before we ran out of petrol
using a boot to the leg then the groin and ribcage
but all with useless effect – disappointing again
the news had just said how to ploy them with pain
either by removing the head or destroying the brain
so choosing what’s next was a choice that we made
by simply moving ahead through the poisoned terrain
the route that we went was by avoiding the rain
and now i’m doing my best by not pointing the blame
(hook)
verse 3:
my family and friends and i were left to be running
the soldiers arrived but it wasn’t the dead they were gunning
we had hope for refuge so we headed to bunning’s
but a train was the light at the end of that tunnel
we got lost in the storm but when we got to the store
the monsters had formed a barrier blocking the doors
so, shocked and appalled, we used some trolleys to bore/
into the oncoming force and had them knocked to the floor
horror and gore like night of the living dead
got inside and we slid the deadbolt while striking them in the head
some gathered weapons, some went hiding within a shed
all my life i had wished i’d get this but i just didn’t expect it
the gl-ss cracked so i went to the gardening aisle
sharpened a scythe, a large trimming knife and started to smile
pulled the coolest tools out in the path of a ride/
on mower and lowered the lock to let the b-st-rds inside
